CHAPTER 5: One
>>>This Chapter has officially been dedicated to the one and the only wonderful Scottie<<<
Fearing and hoping that what he was experiancing would never again happen, Steven stood perfectly still as he heard his former love's voice shake and quiver as though they had just got done making love. He heard the single word that came from John's mouth and just barely was able to make it out, but finally was able to answer.
"Hi.." Steven hadn't noticed up to this point just how baddly he was shaking, because he had to force that single word out with nearly all his might. He had to look away, and do it quickly for he could feel the beads of tears forming in the corners of his eyes and was afraid that he couldnt' hold them back. That was the last thing that he wanted, to let John Dixon know that he mattered to him.
================================================
"Steve... I'm sorry.. I would never have but.. I just had to say hi and didnt' really want to make you feel akward in front of people..." Or something to that effect came rambling out of John's mouth. Feeling like an idiot, John looked away not being able to look at Steve nearly in tears much more. How did he become this fragile? Steven had always been so strong and able to really handle things well. John just walked straight up to Steve, gently lifted his head by placing his left hand under his chin, holding the back of his head with his right hand, and planted his mouth right on Stevens'.
He had been wanting to do that ever since he had seen the very sight of Steven. A stress reliever better than alchohol, A load had seemed to be lifted from his sholders, and yet now he fel so awkward he could't help but looking at nothing but the ground and his feet.

Linda couldn't help but be slightly nervous and worried. Steve had gone off on his own a while ago now, and still wasn't back. "God, I know he grew up here.. but you would think that he could find his way home even after a 4 year sabbaticle." Just as she was about to call it a night and worry about her "brother" tomorrow morning, she saw a car pull up to Steven's house. A car that looked too familiar to be coincidence. She ducked behind the bushes between her house and the Carter residence, and waited nearly five whole minutes before the pasenger door opened and Steven Carter got out. With the ominous car driving away from the house, Linda popped up and seemed as if she nearly frightened the life out of Steve.
"Linds... god.. you gave me such a fright."
"Yeah, well you're being gone so long didnt' do my heart any better."
"Sorry Linds.." Steve said as he made his way towards his front door, while digging for his house key.
"Oh no you don't...you have some explaining to do mister..." Linda started to ask with her usual inquizitivenss. But obviously Steven just wasn't about to have it tonight.
"Linds, well. we'll talk about it tomorrow morning over some coffee, ok?... good, nite.." And with that, Steve jogged in his house and closed the door to Linda's usual response which became more routine than anything.
"ooooooooh... Steven Carter I really HATE you sometimes..."
Wandering back to her own house, she didn't even notice that the car that just came back up the street was the same vehicle that had dropped off Steven just minutes before.
