CHAPTER 2: Part 2

Setting- Steven and John are talking to one another on the phone, Linda recently paid John a visit to see if she could talk some sense into him.

Steven-Johnny, its good to hear your voice.

John-Steven I am so sorry, please can I see you?

Steven-Why? So you can wrench my heart out and step on it again?

John-OH GOD STEVEN, you don't feel that way do you?

Steven-Don't feel that way? DON'T FEEL THAT WAY? Of course that's how I feel. I waited and waited for someone I can be with and feel half way normal and that person pulls out my heart and stomps on it. I meet the one man I would give left nut to be with and he turns out to be the biggest heartache imagineable!

John-I....I...had no idea that' how you felt. I am sorry, mabye I should just hang up.

Steven-NO! Don't do it John. I love you but I will not hide any more. If you want to be with me then fine but you will have to face whatever comes up. No more of this weekend shit either. I want to be with you as much as I can!

John-But what if Kevin or someone else sees us?

Steven-Do you listen when I talk or do you just hear BLAH BLAH BLAH? I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS AND IF YOU DO THEN, then I don't know if we will work.

John-Steven....I..Look, I gotta...Alright. I love you more then you'll ever know and for me to do what I am about to do, it is going to take every bit of courage and bravado I can muster. Please may I see you before...

Steven-Before what John?

John-Before I tell my parents about....me...you...about us?

Steven-Of course you can. I'll be here waiting.

John-I will see you in a few minutes.


Setting-Steven's Living Room, Steven is sitting on the couch

Steven-Come on Johnny.

(A knock is heard and in a few moments John enters followed by Steven's Parents)

John-Mr and Mrs Carter I asked you to come with me becasue I have something to tell you.
(Sits next to Steven and takes his hand) Steven and I...we..we're in love.

Jackie-HOW WONDERFUL! I had a feeling Steven liked you.

Graham-It's nice to meet you son.

John-Now I have to do what will be the hardest thing of my life. I have to tell my mum and dad. I really must do it now. (Kisses Steven and Exits)

Jackie-What a nice boy!
